With the union the major vegemeat companies (Loma Linda and Worthington) with the cereal giant, Kellog, the prices of vegan foods have become more expensive than even the "real" thing.
The idea that vegemeat was supposed to be a "bridge" in the transition to natural, whole foods is only an "idea" in the minds of many vegetarians of all stripes within the camp of "God's People" on their journey to the "Promised Land".
Many of us have gotten tired of "manna" (the ever increasing cost of vegemeat) and still have a "craving" for the "flesh pots of Egypt with garlic and leeks".
Finally, the Mother Lode of vegan type foods was discovered when "Seitan Vegan Corn Beef" was shared on facebook. That had lead to many interesting and promising recipes away from expensive commercialized vegemeats.
Thank the Lord for imaginative cooks willing to share their talents with the multitude of "God's People"!

From Babel To Language of Love
It has been an ongoing personal challenge to communicate clearly without being misunderstood to my spouse. Over time, I came to realize albeit a bit slowly, that men and women process information differently after experiencing the same event in their lives.
It was during our recent men's group group featuring Men's Fraternity at our church did I finally come to grips with this phenomena. I had failed to take into account our differences in personalities and our differences in what is meaningful to her. Speaking the love language that is hers and hers alone in a unique way.
It was also a rather a rather odd set of words, you die to self a little bit each day to gain a whole lot more life with your spouse, that set me off to a rather strange and yet rather challenging new world of mystery from a male perspective to communicate on a deeper level of living with my spouse.
It seems to be a little late in life to come to this conclusion but I do hope to reach the pinnacle of communion with my spouse before my last breath is taken!

Genesis
An appropriate time to reflect on the two weeks past New Year's Eve accomplishments for this new year and this new decade. It isn't easy to reinvent one self at this stage of life. I am starting on the 5th day of Dare to Love which is a process of becoming closely intertwined with the one that I am in love with. It is also the end of the second week of A New U in 52 another journey in getting physically fit and healthy with weight loss. It is also a chance to continue on with Pathfinders and connecting with children and youth with some 4 to 5 decades of life differences.
